The Alliance launches a new policy brief: "Health as an Investment? Reframing the policy debate in Europe"
The Alliance’s new policy brief, which was disseminated at the WHO European Ministerial Health Conference on Health Systems, Tallinn, Estonia in June 2008, sets out to explain why the debate about health care expenditure in Europe should shift from a focus on controlling costs towards one on evaluating value for money.
The Brief is the first in a series of research by the Brief’s authors Michael Gusmano (Columbia University), Marc Suhrcke (World Health Organisation), Ellen Nolte (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine), Martin McKee (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine), Victor Rodwin (New York University) and Daniel Weisz (International Longevity Center-USA)] exploring this topic over the coming months.
